Fireplace update: Step 1
You guys...we are taking on our FIRST tile project!! Lots of mixed feelings right now..nervous, anxious but definitely excited about this one.
If you remember, the tile that was on our fireplace wasn't bad by any means, it was just a little bland for our taste (picture below..I know, I totally forgot to take a picture of it by itself so this is the last one I have!). I've been thinking of ways to give it a refresh ever since we moved into the house, but I knew I had to put this project on the back burner until other projects on our list were completed (that is SUCH a hard thing to do..you know what i mean if you've already started your list of projects).
The fireplace in a home is like a centerpiece, a focal point. Especially since our living room isn't huge, it definitely stands out and more attention is drawn to it since our TV is mounted above.
So..the first step was removing the tile. I left that to my husband to take care of :) Didn't seem too bad, was a little messy for sure.
And here's where we are at. Trust me, it's hard to come home and look at our fireplace torn apart, but patience is key!
I'll be sharing step 2, picking out tile, in the next blog. Stay tuned!
