Choosing the right dining room light fixture

NOTE: This blog post is part of a collaboration with Capital Lighting Fixture Co.

Lighting can change the ambiance and look/feel of a room in an instant. While there are thousands of light fixture choices it can be a challenge choosing the right one for your space especially if you are online shopping.

When choosing a light for your space, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

-Don't be afraid to be bold. A light fixture can be an opportunity to make a statement in a room. You want to be happy with this since it's an investment so don't feel like you have to take a big risk, but also don't settle for something you're just "OK" with.

-Tie in the finish with accents. For example, if you have a black matte finish fixture, tie in accents throughout the room that match, such as a centerpiece.

-Choose the right size for your room and over your table. While your light can make a statement in a room, you don't want it taking up the entire room, or the opposite, having it be too small for the space. Select a fixture that's diameter is somewhere between half and three quarters the diameter (or width) of the tabletop.

I've rounded up some of my favorite chandeliers from Capital Lighting Fixture Co. These can be used in multiple spaces, but since we're on the hunt for a new one for our dining room I chose ones that would be ideal for that space.
