Tips for creating a cozy bed

Starting and ending the day in your bed makes it a perfect reason to make this the coziest space of all..right?

Are you the type that makes your bed each morning, or do you leave it as is so you can jump right in it when it's time to go to sleep?

For me, there's something satisfying about making my bed each morning. You don't have to go "all out" to making your bed if you don't choose to, but you can make it up just enough (in under 5 minutes) to make it feel inviting to lay down and relax at the end of the day (or even for a quick snooze).

Here are some tips to keep in mind:

It's all about the layers (lots of them):

This may be repetitive throughout, but when creating a cozy bed it's truly all about the layers- from throw pillows, to blankets and quilts, etc. Start with a base (sheet), then depending on the season add another blanket or quilt that can be folded over the main sheet.

Add a throw blanket (or two)

Throw blankets add the perfect amount of warmth and texture to a bed. Drape a blanket on the corner of your bed or across the middle of the bed. If you want to bring in a different color or pattern, here is the time to do it.

Pillows, pillows, pillows

If you're a fan of throw pillows, here's the time to go throw pillow crazy! I usually like to aim for having at least 3-4 throw pillows on a bed. Play around with different patterns and textures here.
